Accessible parking

  • There are two disability parking spots near two of the buildings at bottom of the hill, and a handicap parking spot by Dupuis House (top of hill).

General

  • Service dogs welcome
  • First aid kits available

For visitors with mobility disabilities

  • Curb cuts in the street for access to the Dupuis House
  • Terrain at site is hilly and uneven, mostly grass trails
  • Ramp available at Dupuis House
  • A ramp to Faribault House through a grassy area is available with one day's notice
  • Sibley House does not have available ramps
  • Handrails with stairs
  • There is one accessible family restroom on site

For visitors with sensory or communication disabilities

  • Quiet spaces available on site.
  • Sensory trigger warning: the site is next to active train tracks.
  • Public restrooms do not have automatic flushing.

MNHS statement on accessibility

The Sibley Historic Site welcomes all visitors. We recognize the diverse needs of our audience and strive to offer accessible programming to enable all visitors to explore this historic site.

However, accessibility for guests with limited mobility can be challenging at our historic sites due to historic and natural features. With advance notice, we will make every effort to respond to access needs.

Our goal is to provide as much information as possible to guests before their visit to any of our sites and museums.
