Split Rock Lighthouse to Host Annual Free North Shore Community Night

Public is invited to view one of the few annual beacon lightings at the iconic lighthouse

TWO HARBORS, Minn. (May 13, 2024) – Visitors from northern Minnesota and beyond are invited to attend the annual North Shore Community Night at Split Rock Lighthouse on May 23. This free event features activities, live music, and a rare opportunity to see the lighthouse’s iconic beacon lit.

Beginning at 6 pm, guests can explore the historic site at the kick-off to the summer season. At 9 pm, the Split Rock Lighthouse beacon lighting will take place. This event marks one of just three times each year the beacon is lit, along with the Keeper’s View Anniversary event in July and the Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial beacon lighting in November.
