Duluth, Minnesota June 30, 1922

Mr. D. H. Knickerbacker,
St. Cloud, Minn.
Re: Carl John Hammerberg
Dear Sir:

Your favor of June 27th received and I wish to thank you for the same. In reply to the same I wish to state that employment for Mr. Hammerberg has been secured. After a conversation today with his prospective employer I am ready to say that the freedom of Hammerberg can be given him not at any time. His mother and sister would like to have him home by the 4th of July and I therefore asked Capt. Thompson, who is going to employ Mr. Hammerberg, to write you according to you wish expressed in the letter as stated above. For my own part I will do whatever I can to assist you in keeping informed about Hammerberg.
Trusting that the matter soon may be accomplished I remain,

Yours very truly,
Carl J. Silfversten
