Dear Sir:
Answering yours of the 7th, regarding Louis Dondino.
At the beginning of my acquaintance with him, I made some inquiries about him and found that he was an honest, conscientious young man of good disposition. As our acquaintance became more intimate, I found that his habits, honesty, disposition and general behavior were of the best and that his associates were good.
He was quite well known in this vicinity and my personal opinion is, that on account of his genial disposition, he was imposed upon at the time of the disturbance in our city and thereby got into difficulties on the spur of the moment with out a thought of the eventualities that followed.
