Jeffers Petroglyphs is located three miles east of US Hwy 71 on Cottonwood Co. Rd. 10, and one mile south on Co. Rd 2 in southwest Minnesota.

Driving directions

From Minneapolis-St. Paul

US 169 south to Mankato, then MN 60 west to Bingham Lake. Turn north onto Cottonwood County Rd 2, continue 13 miles to site.

US 169 south to Hwy 19 west. Take Gaylord/Henderson exit. Continue until MN Hwy 15 then turn left. Continue for about 31 miles into New Ulm. Turn right onto Hwy 14 (west). Continue about 24 miles past Sleepy Eye. Turn left onto Brown County Rd 16 , drive 11 miles into the town of Comfrey.  Turn right at Brown County Rd 17 and continue 4 miles. County Rd 17 becomes Cottonwood County 10 — continue another 4 miles. Turn left on Cottonwood County Rd 2 for 1 mile to site.

US 212 west to Olivia. Turn left on U.S. Hwy 71 south and continue to Redwood Falls (watch for a turn in town). Continue south for about 35 miles. Turn left (east) on Cottonwood County Rd 10 for 3 miles. Turn right on Cottonwood County Rd 2 for 1 mile to site.

US 212 west to Hutchinson. Turn left on MN Hwy 15 for about 31 miles. In New Ulm, turn right on U.S. Hwy 14 and continue for 24 miles. Turn left on Brown County Rd 16 and continue into the town of Comfrey about 11 miles. Turn right at Brown County Rd 17 and continue for 4 miles. The road changes to Cottonwood County Rd 10 — continue another 4 miles. Turn left on Cottonwood County Rd 2 for 1 mile to site.  

From Sioux Falls

Follow I-90 east to Worthington, then take MN Hwy 60 east to Bingham Lake. Turn north on Cottonwood County Rd 2 and continue for 13 miles to site.  

From the east

Take I-90 to Jackson, then take US Hwy 71 north to Windom. Take MN Hwy 60 east to Bingham Lake, then take Cottonwood County Rd 2 north for 13 miles to site.  

From St. Peter

Take US-169 to Mankato, then take MN-60 to Madelia. Follow Highway 15 to Highway 3, and then to MN-30. Turn right onto 510th Avenue.

Parking

A gravel parking lot is available (free of charge) for cars and oversized vehicles. RVs, buses, and trailers should follow the parking lot around the center island and park on the north side facing the highway.
